Fall 2024 Season

Open to girls who are in 5th - 8th grade

Player Assessments

Assessments will take place on Saturday, August 24th from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM – based on numbers.  Assessments will be broken up by grade 5th and 6th grade assessments followed by 7th and 8th grade assessments.  This process helps us ensure the best format and placement for players for our rec season.
 

Practices and Games

Volleyball practices will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning at 5:30 PM or 7:00 PM, and games on Saturdays.

The ACTSports Staff will assign your child's practice time after player assessments are completed to maximize the player's experience best.  

Please be sure they are able to attend whichever practice time they are assigned.  

The first practice will be on Tuesday, September 3rd.  You will be notified by August 29th whether your daughter is in the early or late practice time slot.  

The first game will be on Saturday, September 14th

An end-of-the-season tournament is scheduled for the week of October 15th.

The last tournament games will be on Saturday, October 19th.

All practices and games will be held at Victory Worship Center (VWC), 200 Hammond Lane, Staunton, VA.
 

Player availability 

If your daughter is playing middle school volleyball in one of the local schools, we ask that they keep their focus there versus trying to do both - we feel presence and participation in the fall program are important, and it is vital that girls are present at as many practices and games for the ACTSports program as possible.
 

Spaces are Limited 

Registration numbers are determined by the available staffing. It is vital that we have sufficient staffing for the Fall program to be able to have the team-play format. We will keep registration open in correlation to the volunteer coaching numbers that we have.

To ensure the season starts on time, we need all coaching positions filled.  As a token of our appreciation, we are offering a 50% registration discount for players whose parents are coaching. To receive this discount, simply register your child and complete the coach's application. Once the application is processed, we will apply the discount by refunding the money back to you.

REFUND POLICY

No Refunds After Assessments: Refunds are not provided once assessments are completed.

Partial Refunds: May be considered at ACTSports' discretion based on individual circumstances.

For additional coverage, SportsEngine offers third-party registration insurance. This insurance is not affiliated with ACTSports and covers only specific situations. TEAM TIME

Once a week, players will have Team Time for 3-5 minutes during practice. Team Time is part of the ACTSports program that teaches character development from a Biblical perspective and ties the Bible to a life/sports lesson.  
 

PICTURE DAY

Individual and team pictures will be taken during practice time. More information to come.
 

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

Volunteers are essential for a successful season. Each family will be assigned a volunteer role. If you cannot fulfill your assigned duty, please use the team chat on the SportsEngine app to arrange a switch with another person. Detailed instructions will be available at the volunteer table, and the head referee will provide guidance and assistance on game day.

1. Scoreboard: We provide instruction and assistance (no previous experience necessary)
2. Line Judging: Volunteers are needed for each game to line judge (referees provide assistance for this)
